Joel Van Treese
Joel has 38 years of industry experience – 33 of those years were in the distribution business and he held titles from Truck Driver to Vice President-General Manager and Board Member with both large local and National distributors. He has served on several advisory councils for large manufacturers and has mentored many during his career. Joel enjoys assisting distributors and end customers in their success. Fun Facts: Joel enjoys music (he runs a 16-piece swing band in his spare time), photography, and grandkids (5). He has followed in his father’s footsteps as the family historian. In a prior life Joel was “on-air” talent in radio (he has a face for radio), was a disc jockey in the 70’s and “ran the board” for Mike Fornes (WIBC) Indianapolis Racer games (a Major League Hockey team in the WHA with notable players Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier).
Vice President Operations & Central Indiana Sales
Mike has worked in the electrical industry for over 35 years. He worked for a large electrical distributor in various parts of the country before moving back home to Indiana and starting with a Rep Agency. His tenure in distribution helps him understand all aspects that a distributor encounters. Mike lives on the south side of Indy with his wife Sueann. He has 3 children, 2 step-children and 4 granddaughters. Fun Fact: Mike is a big racing fan; his dad worked at (the former) Raceway Park and his family spent most weekends and summers at the track.
Senior Partner, Northern Indiana Sales
Born and raised in Indianapolis, Steve started in the electrical business as a Manufacturers Representative the day after his graduation from Butler University in 1979. Steve enjoyed 5 years as a Regional Sales Manager with Minerallac Cully before joining Electra Products Agency in 2006. Steve and his wife Jacquie have four adult children, all gainfully employed. (Thank Heaven!) They also share 3 grandchildren, 2 doggies, and 2 grand doggies. Fun Fact: Steve sang Ava Maria to a full auditorium.
VP of Sales and North/Central Indiana Sales
Matt graduated from Ball State in 2005 and started with Gexpro in 2007 working on various National Accounts. Matt joined the Electra Products team in the Spring of 2014. He lives in Indianapolis with his wife and dog. Matt is also a die-hard Michigan Wolverine fan. Fun Fact: Matt lived in Australia for six months while attending college.
Contractor Specialist & Southern Indiana Sales
Tim is an Indianapolis native that attended Marian University. He and his wife of 20 years, Amy, have two kids and live on the south side of Indianapolis. Tim brings a broad knowledge base to the EPA Team and helps us create demand by making our End Customer aware of products that are safer, energy-saving, and with a lower installed cost. Tim has 13 years' experience in Contractor sales with a National Distributor. He also has 2 years' experience as a National Sales Manager for a HVAC Company.
Customer Service Supervisor
Chris brings a plethora of business experience including many years within the distributor sector of the electrical industry dating back to 1995. Chris is a native of Speedway, IN. He resides there with his wife, Kris, and is the proud father of two daughters. Chris played college golf and spent several years as a local golf professional. Outside of spending time with his family, Chris’s passions include Butler University, IndyCar racing, the Green Bay Packers and coaching high school football. Chris is excited about being a part of the EPA team and its rich heritage in the electrical industry. He also looks forward to helping the EPA team grow, while maintaining the incredibly high standards that our manufacturer, distributor and contractor partners have come to know and love.
After graduating from a local business college, Mindy began her career with a national electrical distributor. After a long tenure and holding various positions, Mindy decided to give the rep side a try and started with EPA in 2015. Fun Fact: At Age 5, she cut the power to an escalator in El Corte Ingles, a busy department store in Barcelona, Spain. Mom and Dad were not amused.
Chris begin his career in the Electrical Industry in 2005 and has been with EPA since 2013. Chris brings commodity experience from both the rep and distributor sides of the industry. Chris grew up in and around the construction industry and has gained a wide range of knowledge over the years that helps the team daily throughout the building processes. Other than the 4 years Chris spent living out of state in Washington and Kentucky, he is a lifelong resident of Indianapolis's southside. Chris and his family currently reside in Greenwood. Chris is an avid outdoorsman and he also dabbles in wood working. Fun Fact: Chris is quick with a pun and enjoys living life to a soundtrack by connecting just about everything to song titles.
Eric first interned with EPA in 2015 while attending Indiana University. After graduating from IU in 2017, Eric worked in sales for a local beverage distributor with a focus on merchandising. Eric rejoined the EPA team in 2018 and has quickly become a valuable asset. He resides on Indy’s south side and enjoys cycling, playing guitar, and firing up the grill. Fun Fact: Eric took Fencing and History of Rock and Roll as elective classes in college.
Born and raised in Indianapolis, Karen started with EPA in 2016. She and her husband Dale have been married for 38 years and have one son. Karen has a twin sister who is also in the electrical business. During her time off, Karen loves spending time with her family and friends. Fun Fact: Karen enjoys running, bike riding, and playing volleyball.
Aaron joined the EPA team in 2021 after graduating from DePaul University in the class of 2020 (the great heart of COVID). He is new to the electrical industry but his innate curiosity, drive to learn, and previous experience in sales will turn him into a great asset for the team. Aaron grew up in Mountain View, California, a suburb of San Jose, and later attended high school in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is a lover of football, basketball, and Chicago sports teams. Fun fact: Aaron co-hosted a sports talk show in his early college years at Elon University.
